The City of Greendale would like to inform residents that trash and yard waste pickup will take place on Monday, November 10th next week, instead of Tuesday, in observance of Veterans Day. Please also note that the City Administration Office, City Garages, and the Utility Office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th as we honor and remember our nation’s veterans. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Reminder: Greendale’s ordinance prohibits recreational vehicles—including campers, motorhomes, camper-trailers, house trailers, and boat or watercraft trailers—from being parked on public streets, alleys, or rights-of-way between November 1st and March 31st. Smaller personal vehicles like pickup trucks and vans under 18 feet long and 7 feet wide are not affected. If a vehicle is parked in violation, the owner may first receive a 24-hour notice to move it before a ticket or towing occurs. Thank you for helping keep our streets clear and safe this winter!

A heartfelt thank-you to OKI, Dearborn County Planning & Zoning, Indiana University, Davey Resource Group, the Greendale Parks Department, the Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation, and all of the incredible volunteers who came out this morning to support our community tree-planting effort. Thanks to a grant from Indiana University, volunteers helped plant 25 native hardwood trees across the Lawrenceburg Community Schools campus! A special shout-out to Grayce Klayer, Linda Cromer, and Nicole Daily for their leadership and coordination. This project simply wouldn’t have been possible without your hard work and dedication. The City of Greendale invites residents to join our friends at Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation in volunteering for a campus-wide tree planting on Friday, October 31st from 9:00am to noon at 100 Tiger Blvd, Lawrenceburg, IN. This family-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community and help the environment, one tree at a time! Participants can look forward to learning about what it takes to plant and grow a tree, enjoying food and refreshments, and possibly even receiving giveaway items! Notice is hereby given to taxpayers of CITY OF GREENDALE, Dearborn County, Indiana that the proper officers of City Of Greendale will conduct a public hearing on the year 2026 budget. Following this meeting, any ten or more taxpayers may object to a budget, tax rate, or tax levy by filing an objection petition with the proper officers of City Of Greendale not more than seven days after the hearing. The objection petition must identify the provisions of the budget, tax rate, or tax levy to which taxpayers object. If a petition is filed, City Of Greendale shall adopt with the budget a finding concerning the objections in the petition and testimony presented. Per the Dearborn County Board of Commissioners a county wide burn ban is now in effect for Dearborn County. This ban will remain in effect until rescinded from the commissioners. This decision was made due to the continued lack of rainfall, high temperatures, and high humidity. It was felt that these conditions have dried vegetation to the point it may easily combust and thus become a fire hazard. The fire chiefs in Dearborn County were asked their opinion and a vast majority is in favor of a burn ban. Pursuant to Dearborn County Ordinance § 96.01(B), effective immediately the following activities are prohibited in Dearborn County: 1. Campfires and any other form of recreation fire unless said fires are enclosed in a fire ring measuring at least 23 inches in diameter and 10 inches or more in height. 2. Open burning of any kind using wood or any other combustible matter, with the exception of cooking grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane gas. Charcoal from permitted grills shall not be removed from a grill until the charcoal has been thoroughly extinguished. 3. Open burning of any kind of debris, such as timber, vegetation, building constructions waste or otherwise, with the exception of burning barrels with a 1⁄4 inch mesh top and said burning shall be permitted from dawn to dusk only; and 4. Subject to Indiana Code § 22-11-14-10.5, the usage of consumer fireworks. Any individual or entity found in violation of this section shall be subject to a fine of not less than $200 but not more than $1,000, plus applicable court costs.

The bridge on Ridge Avenue leading to S.R. 1 and Oberting Road will be closed overnight on Friday, August 22, beginning at 10:00pm, for concrete pouring. The bridge will reopen on Saturday morning, August 23, at 6:00am. Please plan accordingly and use caution in the area during this work.
