Greendale Police Department will join 50 other Indiana law enforcement agencies to
partner with Special Olympics Indiana and Dunkin’ stores on Friday, May 15,
for Cop on a Rooftop. Officers will be stationed at the Dunkin’ store at 448 Dunkin Dr. Greendale, IN. from 5:00am until noon.
Visitors to participating Dunkin’ stores can donate money and learn more about their
local Special Olympics Indiana program. Police and safety officers will be stationed in,
around and on top of the stores from 5:00am to noon to help support and raise
awareness for the 20,000 Hoosier athletes who train and compete for free within
Special Olympics.
Individuals who donate to Cop on a Rooftop receive a coupon for a free donut. Those
who donate $10 or more receive a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.
“Cop on a Rooftop gives us a unique way to connect with our community while
supporting something that truly matters,” Chief Shane Slack said. “Every dollar raised
helps provide opportunities for Special Olympics athletes to train, compete and build
confidence. As officers, we’re proud to stand behind these athletes and be part of a
program that promotes inclusion, teamwork and respect across our communities.”
To date, Cop on a Rooftop events have raised more than $125,000 for Special
Olympics Indiana.
