The City of Greendale would like to update residents on the ongoing water main replacement project along Nowlin Avenue, from Haag Avenue to the underpass.

As crews continue tying in the individual side streets connected to the new main, residents in the area should expect approximately five more water outages over the course of the next three weeks as this work continues.

This $1.2 million project replaces water lines that are over 75 years old and had reached the end of their intended lifespan, with a history of multiple breaks over the past decade. This work is necessary to continue providing safe, clean, and reliable water to the northern part of Greendale.

We understand the frustration these outages, along with the current road conditions, have caused. Once the project is complete, the road patches will be milled and repaved to Greendale road standards, and the City is pursuing a Community Crossings Grant to repave the entire section of Nowlin Avenue in early 2027.

Going forward, the City will issue REACH alerts by noon the day before any scheduled water outage. Stay informed about important updates from the City of Greendale — including road closures and power outage updates — by signing up for REACH alerts today.

Signing up is easy:

• Visit www.reachalert.com and click "Sign Up"

• Enter "Greendale, IN" in the organization field

• Create your account using your preferred contact information

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve infrastructure in our community.
