As the leaves fall, we know that the holidays are just around the corner. In celebration of our City of Greendale during this very special season, a group of Greendale residents, along with representatives of the Dearborn County Historical Society, have organized Greendale's Christmas on the Avenue event. This event will focus on homes along our historic Ridge Avenue, and we hope that all of you will be able to participate. This event has the support of the City of Greendale.
When: Saturday, December 4th 5 - 9 pm
What is involved: 4 residences along Ridge Avenue, will be open for participants to tour and enjoy the decorated interiors. They include 337 (Fulton), 407(Huff), 509 (Watkins), and 548 (Krider).
How can you participate: In support of the tour, residents along Ridge Avenue are being asked to decorate their properties for the season. Many of you have already done this beautifully in past years but we are hoping to elevate our efforts this year. Let's make Ridge Avenue a special holiday experience!
Tour tickets: Persons wishing to tour the 4 homes will be able to purchase tickets online at EventBrite: Adults $20, Children 6-12 $10, Children 6 and under free. Tickets will go on sale on November 8th until 12 noon on December 4th. All proceeds will go to the Dearborn County Historical Society for improvement projects to the Vance Tousey House. Bonus: Each adult ticket sold will also include a membership in the Historical Society.
Greendale Garden Club Luminaries: In addition, the committee is partnering with the Greendale Garden Club and luminaries will be available to light up your property for this December 4th event.
First United Church of Christ Greendale: Will provide a check in point and parking for participants.
First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg-Greendale: Will present the 20th anniversary performance of Jazzy Christmas with a 16-piece Big Band and Choir! Call 812-537-1642 after November 11th for free tickets. Limited seating.
Der Heisse Stein German Restaurant: Offering a special discount to tour participants.
City of Greendale: Will assist in ensuring safety of participants walking along Ridge Avenue.
